I love Lorraine! Great to see an article about her on here.
I had her as a coach on my second day at SGC. She definetly knows how to break down the mechanics of doing something of not only how to do it, but also how you are currently doing it and how to fix it. She was great to ride with.

Lorraine has been going at it harder and longer than any girl I know.
Comparing her to Marcie is pointless. Marcie is a ripper for sure and keeps it low key. She is not alone, these days they are everywhere.
Lorraine is out there coaching/racing and generally showing the ladies a great example. She is getting props here for the work she does. Riding for yourself is cool and all, but that's all it is.
The young girls need riders like Lorraine and Marcie to look up to.

Lorraine was DH National Champ when Rachel Atherton was like 10 years old. I'm sure if she dedicated herself back to racing she could be within a pretty reasonable time of the female Atherton.
