Seb fell on his sword and woke up way too early to watch the DH World Champs.
Leogang Commentary: Seb Kemp takes on the Worlds
Gwin's brakes sure seemed fine down the rest of the run….

Apparently Gwin hit the deck… presumably caused by brake issue.
The color commentator Myles Rockwell didn't have too much to say about Stevie Smith. He prolly didn't even know who he was. (Should do research perhaps) I've heard some people comment on Smith's cool attitude [HTML_REMOVED] mistake it for grumpiness or being mad. I don't think that's what it is. He's just chill [HTML_REMOVED] not a rah-rah kinda guy.

It'd be great to see DH ditch the UCI and create their own race series like the slopestyle riders have done with FMB. And maybe add a few more rounds while they're at it.
It was pretty dull, but it was always going to be compared to last year's absolute insanity.
Best moment was Morgane Charre coming from seemingly nowhere and absolutely stomping the steep technical section. It was like we'd suddenly switched to the men's race. There's a new kid on the block.
Gwin's clown riding was really weak.
Nope. He's got goon down pat.
how was it weak? have a mechanical, so he shouldn't throw some whips and gooning? at least he gave a bit of a show regardless of his mechanical….guess he should been more serious and angry and thrown his bike around and cried like a little school girl.
Sounds like some people are tired of Gwin winning all the time.

I'm not familiar with this term 'gooning' on a bike. Must be some Brit private school thing.
I'm glad I checked the pictures because the commentary didn't mention a Canadian podium in the Men's.
Pulling it all together for one-moment-in-time (with the World watching) is epic.
Well done to all those representing Canada !
Ladies, please. :D
I did enjoy the crowd pleasing giant suicide no-hander to flat from an earlier fallen rider, the start gate smash, Atkinson's massive rock drop for no reason at all, and when Neethling (and dozens of others) kept charging despite clearly having blown it. Awesome stuff, and the stuff of World Champs races.
To me it just looked like Gwin gave up a little softly and was trying to make light of the fact. Hard to tell with the semi-live footage.
The best man won on the day.
Did anyone else goon it up after they crashed? Bit disrespectful to the rest of the riders don't you think? It would have been more impressive to me if he'd got back on and still bagged a top 5 like Hill did in 08. Maybe I'm just more jaded than those fun loving Christians.

Gwin did crash into the fence up top and it wasn't shown on the live feed but it is in this video:

I still think he should have kept charging, and if his prototype Saints did fail as they claim they did, then how was he able to goon it up still?
I'm just glad it wasn't Gwin and it wasn't Gee if it couldn't be Stevie!
