Ten riders haul their bike up the mountain over three days and then race down almost 9000 vertical in around two hours?
You have to be kidding me.

Sounds like a cool and original event. Excited to see the outcome.
Well done! What a wonderfull way to expose our sport in the most positive of light, and help out others along the way. I'm envious of the experience these guys will have.
Can't wait to read more, Cam.

2 hour downhill? My money is on Weir but I think the Alien will throw down too. Whatever happens, these guys will be torched. The Claw will come in last place. No disrespect but this will be all about the riders' ability to stay at a high anaerobic threshold for 2 hours ++ and not eat a big pile of elephant sh*t on the way down. Can't wait to see the video!
great event…my favorite will be rene wildhaber…..
he
sweet , wade's racing it!
Going to be tough for the freeriders to hang with those seasoned racers. The trek to the top will more than likely level the playing field a little. I'm voting Weir.
So, the trek up and back down is all part of this race?
Yeah…huge equalizer. No matter what, this is lining up as an epic event! Slopestyle what? Rampage who?

The trek won't be timed but it is an essential part of the event.
There are so many unknowns - including most of the athletes for those of us in North America. Sam Peridy is a journalist actually who I often see at events. He's no spring chicken but he's a great rider. It will be interesting to see how he does against some of the higher profile riders. And it will be interesting to see how Weir does against Ze Frenchmen. Those guys own Megavalanche.
Barel will have an advantage having ridden much of the course and being more familiar with the area. It would be no shock to see him win. And there's no competitor like Vouilloz.
Unless the north americans are gonna train at altitude, the euros will have the aerobic advantage. Vouilloz 1, Wildhaber 2, Barel 3
looks awesome! i wonder how much climbing there is on the descent? i see a gravity dropper in the first pic.
would riding this be a conflict of interest with Rocky?
