and we're already in need of a good push. Top 6 are around or above 600 and we are sitting sub 400. I got my first vote in! Gotta get pinkbike on side again. Last time they ran the story on the front page votes went up pretty quick.

Probably need to spread it through this forum as well. If you don't do the Home page or article discussion you won't see it, right?

Forward the link to friends and bikers (and in some cases both) not the board, too. We really need to bump up the votes.

Out of 91 in the running Trails for All is sitting 41st. Come on peeps!! Even the seniors garden is trumping us. What the hell are seniors going to do with a whack of cash in a community garden anway.

When voting, please take a second and have a look down at the comments below. All comments are positive except for one person who has posted multiple negative comments and has tried to promote other ideas within her comments.

The commenter is called "Octopetalia" please click on the "report abuse" link under this persons comments as they are uniformed and they are using the comments only to knock others ideas and promote their own.

I can't believe how sad the voter turnout for this is. It's actually fairly incredible.

I don't know vegas,

Its above save 500 baby songbirds!

but ya, pretty disappointing. I voted 10 times, if most of those votes are from people voting 10 times… doesn't bode well for the trails on the north shore…

Looking to ride the shore but don't know where to go?

FYP.
If only there was some way we could get all the whiners about Life Cycles voting…but I guess its easier to complain then contribute.

How do you know they didn't? We have approx 4400 votes. If everyone that voted for us voted 10x, that's 440 voters. Obviously not everyone would have voted ever day, so the number of voters would be higher (I'd guess 5-600). There was maybe 20, 30 dissenters tops in that thread. They all easily could have voted ten times.

We'd need almost double the current vote tally to break the top 10. If you have suggestions on how to realistically reach that total, please share them with us.

BTW, I voted 7 times (was out of cyberspace for three days), and didn't care for Life Cycles.

There's gotta be at least 10 000+ people in the LM who ride the Shore. 440 voted?

Same issue as with general trail maintenance, how many of the people that actually use the trails contribute back to them? Sure it's a similarly small percentage.

It's just one of those facts of life, those of us that spend some of our free time volunteering and giving back are the minority…. I also bet that the majority of those 10,000 people aren't even on the board or aware of the competition.

And if nothing else this can be chalked up to a learning experience and we'll all just have to make sure we do better next time ;)

Glad to hear you voted.
Didn't vote every day? Took me about 30 seconds.

There's gotta be at least 10 000+ people in the LM who ride the Shore. 440 voted?
If you think thats a good effort, your bar is low.
But hats off to those who did nevertheless.

Yes, I didn't vote every day. Re-read my statement, didn't have internet access for a few days while out of town on vacation.

Didn't say that 440 voters was a good effort either. You need to stop inferring things that just aren't there.

Not aware? 1800 people were emailed, plus another 60+ key industry people, 999 Facebook friends, Tweets out the ass, etc. etc.

Make sure we do better next time? There were 2 previous rounds.

Its just apathy, nothing else.

Still don't hear any suggestions for improving the voter turn-out.

O look, its Super Chunky Monkey amazed with himself at how great it is to come in last!

(also, yes the apathy of bikers regarding this voting was pretty pathetic….)

Bicycles!
