here's the new ones;

Green DT and White Endo - sooooo sexy!

Those would round out my quiver nicely, if only I could convince my wife.

the little black Endorphin fits me perfect, and would also round out my quiver quite nicely. But…
P.s. I love your squirrels.

Nice set up.

I just got my green DT but don't have any money to build it up. Maybe Santa will bring some parts

I'm still having fun looking at the frame in my living room for now. The build quality is top notch and the buying experience was great thanks to the good people at Knolly.

Hmm…..they do look sexy. What is following is a short conversation between me and my missus:

Me: Hmm….now these look nice, eh?

She: Yep. Kinda nice. Like my own bike better.

Me: The lines are nicer on this one.

She: Hmm….you have a bike.

Me: Yes, I know. Just browsing through the 'net.

She (horror in her eyes): You are planning on buying a bike next summer?

Me: Nononono…….you are right. Too expensive, and I have a bike that is still nice and up and running (but cannot hide me just being caught).

ZZZinggg!

Old parts on a new bike is OK!
After shedding almost two pounds swapping out the dh rubber for sub 1 kg tyres and Stan's, and poking some new screws into my pedals, I am pleased to report that this rig rips it up!
So plush, and so damn fast.
This bike is a rocket!

Oh, so very jealous. What's the weight as it sits in the photo? Does it climb as good as it looks?

with the Maxxis 3C dh tyres, she weighed in at 36.5 lbs, and rode a little sluggish with that low energy rubber. But climbed amazingly well on trails, considering the extra rotating mass. I suffered on the fire road, but Max Plaxton was riding with us, so I didn't feel too bad about lagging. One thing for sure, is that this chassis lives for technical climbing. An old school seat angle and short chainstays make this possible, and the 4 X 4 linkage brings the technical climbing moves to a whole other level.

I replaced those tyres, (and regular tubes) for a pair of IRC Freedomcross Trail Bears- love the name! They weigh in about 960 grams at 2.5" width and a folding bead. Best of all, they retail for $40!!! They are a lot slipperier than the 3C tyres I had- duh- and I'm keen to ride them in the wet this weekend to see how much of a difference they will be from those sticky tyres. Saving the weight and increasing my rolling efficiency should have the effect of keeping me from blowing out as quick. With Stan's kit, and those IRC tyres, the bike weighs a c hair over 35 lbs, with my semi-heavy, durable components.

Changing the tyres completely changed the ride of the bike, as it should. But I cannot believe the ride! Super plush, active suspension and a comfortable, neutral geometry. A 56cm top tube length is not so easy to find, and Knollies indeed take into consideration the importance of proper geometry and fit for all different sizes of human. This bike has get-up-and-go! When you put the hammer down, the Endorphin chomps down on the bit and gives er, no spongee yucky pogoing.

I'm going to work on a little sumpin sumpin with the boys, so stay tuned for more Knolly developments!
