There are certain stories that can make life in an industrialized nation feel pretty insignificant. This is one of those stories.

The Himalayas are so beautiful, and covered in epic singletrack; but the last place i would look to go riding is Kashmir.
Epic story, good luck.
awesome story and crazy how much the terrain looks like it could be right here in bc. definitely the adventure of a lifetime.
We don't know what our limits are, so to start something with the idea of being limited actually ends up limiting us.

The photography is spectacular. A very well written article. The locals now have a sense of purpose.Just like in Canada the riders will appreciate the land and the trails. Kashmir would be an amazing adventure. Look out mounteneers here comes the mountain bikers.
common senseā¦..Whats common about sense?!
that was amazing. really shows how big the world is and how many mountains there are other then the rockies and alps.
This place looks incredible. You have really started something there. Would be fantastic to ride. Great article and pictures
Someday I want to ski there
Why slag free swag?
ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.
I bike toured the Indian Himalaya in 1996. My intention was to ride to Kashmir, however the recent beheading at the time of an Australian tourist made me choose to ride in Himachal Pradesh instead.
Have there been any recent beheadings of tourists? Maybe a Leatt brace would confound the beheaders? Ha!
Absolutely beautiful country, tho. Very much like BC, but the mountains are waaaaay bigger!
