When Stuart Kernaghan wasn't learning things the easy way at the BC Bike Race this year, he was definitely learning them the hard way.

Great info in there (even though I've never done the BCBR), almost all of it would be applicable to multi-day mtn bike road trips too.

Looking forward to reading part 2.

Great report and great tips - I hope I don't spoil anything but I am looking forward to Stuart telling us "Bring your own mechanic". :)

The dropper post would have been AWESOME when I was in Transrockies.

Stuart it was a pleasure watchin u race each day and these are awesome tips, I have been telling 90 percent of the riders to get a seat dropper post, most don't listen, they say because of the weight and they either don't ride or have as much fun as they could be having on the free downhill decents! Looking forward to the next installment!!

My neighbour did the race and loved it. He echoed the dropper post and bigger tires sentiment…helped him a lot. He said it was such a good experience and met a lot of cool folks from around the world. He also echoed the fact that there were a lot of people way above their heads in the race.
