Why do you need a new bike? I never get when people complain about companies releasing new product too often.

the comments in the article about the changes to the suspension rocker / linkage to reduce "mid travel wallow" are interesting

we tried everything to tune my buddy's Enduro (2011) including the Fox RP volume adjustment kit, even the largest insert could not cure the wallow problem

he ended up buying the Specialized / Fox link and RC4 coil shock conversion kit, which has transformed the bike

hopefully the 2013 with the new rocker can cure this issue, which affected the Enduro when pushed really hard (like a Mini-DH bike, as the geometry encourages)

On a semi-related note, I have a demo 7 with the DHX 5 and recently switched to an RC4. Pedals significantly better now(no huge mid stroke wallow when I stand and hammer) and the bike feels so much better on drops as well (more of an endless feel). There is likely much better low speed compression in the RC4 vs. dhx (and maybe rp23?).

I didn't know they made an RC4 shock that would fit the enduro. Must you buy a different link kit for the enduro to accept the longer shock?

Yes. For 2010-2012 Enduros you can order the EVO link kit from Specialized for around $60. You also need a special spring clamp piece. Then a 8.5" x 2.5" RC4 will fit, also boosts the amount of travel a bit.

There's nothing better than an Orangina after cheating death with Digger.

Have only spent a little time on 2011/12 enduro's. They're awesome bikes for sure but steep tech climbing suffers badly from the lack of mid-stroke support in the rear, which drives me crazy, and is hard to tune out with shock re-tuning. also, the specialized fork didn't suit me, far too linear, and again no mid-stroke support. I don't want a bike that feels "deep", but rather one that stands tall when it's being smashed around.

I'd still rather have the stumpy evo, if only for the lower BB. 150mm travel is plenty for a bike with this geo. 34 seems to suit it well, though still chasing tuning in shock and fork.

When does the 650b Enduro come out?

Wrong. Always.

Bottle Cage!

Let's hope they can put the mounts in middle of the tube. Took em three goes with my Stumpy.

yes cuz i hate having to clean my pack out from gatorade or anything other then water..

having a bottlecage allows me to slip a gatorade (or similar) into the bike and have plain water on my back.

ps my 08 StumpyFSR has a dam near useless water bottle mount aswell, things so low on the down tube with a bottle in it, the shock position lever gets bumped into lockout mode on even the smallest bumps.. just another small "feature" on that bike that irks me.

i was always a huge fan of the big S, but this bike has so many small issues i'd be real leary of buying another new big S bike without a WAYYY more in detail exam/ride.
