The Enduro is due for an update and we've got eyes on the first production models for 2013 in both carbon and aluminum.

Check out the new 6" machine here...

I've been making a list in my head of what my dream bike is, it's pretty much the list above. That is beautiful!

Looking good! What generation is this now? I ride the last gen(2011) and love the bike. Although i wasnt a fan of the expert class oem spec and have spent a pile getting the bike to where i want it. I disagree with adding more travel again. 160mm front and back is already quite a bit especially considering suspension tech evolution. I almost want less….perhaps a stumpy evo. Great sneak peek thanks NSMB.

sorry but kitting the bikes with the fox 34 with 15mm axle… dropped this bike close to the status as what Trek did with the 2010 Remedy.

Stumpy evo made enduro irrelevant last year already
Many people will be unhappy with 34 up front, at least on paper, especially if it has the peculiar CTD damper
Enduro should have 36 RC2

As an owner of a 2010 Enduro S-Works, I love everything about these revisions. But if I have to get stuck with a 34mm fork then I may as well ride a 29er.

They charge a premium but cheap out on front derailleurs, shifters, cassettes, and FORKS.
Most people won't care about the drivetrain since it'll need replacing soon enough anyway, but how much extra would a proper fork cost?!
My stumpy came with a 32 RL, garbage. RLC cart is an extra $50 or so wholesale. The most important component should be a highlight of the build spec.

i sat around all pissed off today thinking about this silly 34 upfront…. Its a small difference in the end, but an important difference…. I rode a 34 recently and without knowing it… it felt just a bit, how can I say, not as sure as I've come to know, and low and behold it was a 34. aha I said….
and I really hope that they offer some options for upgrading with the double barrel / 180mm linkage. not sure what it takes for that but if I'm the person buying the bike, I would like the option of Enduro expert with double barrel and or 180 travel setting…. no difference than me having the option for lighter bike with more gucci parts…. e.g. higher end model.

Clark's comments are bang on. Drivetrain components can be changed out as and when they break. Manufacturers need to start allocating more of the budget to suspension components, and whoever at Fox decided that the 34 fork platform should replace the 36 in 160mm AM applications needs a strong kick in the ballsack.

i swear we have this conversation on the boards so often. People who live in cali and the east coast and not BC think 34 will be enough. Im sure the amount of people who need a 36 is pretty slim. Most people who own Enduro's probably dont put them through what they get put through up here…

I'll reserve judgment on the 34 160 until I actually ride one. Lately I've been feeling like a 32 150 is stretched just a bit too far so I am actually really looking forward to riding this fork, and the new Enduro.

This is why there needs to be various models not just focused around drivetrain spec. There are few distinct Enduro users:
1. AM riders who will love the lighter bike w/ Fox 34
2. BC riders who still want air suspension and a Fox 36
3. FR/EVO-type riders who want longer travel (maybe coil) and a Fox 36 180mm
4. Budget-oriented riders

At the end of the day group#1 is by far the largest, and group#2 can easily upgrade the bike to a bigger fork.

Will the EVO still be offered? And will it now be air-only or is coil still an option?

I dunno about that Clark. I think the geometry of the Enduro is way better than the Stumpy. Even with a 66 degree head angle the 75 degree seat on the Enduro made the Enduro climb steeper stuff better than the Stumpy IMO. Going down there is just no comparison. The Stumpy feels like a amped up trail bike and the Enduro feels like a mini DH. I don't need 160mm on the back but if that S-Works Enduro really does weigh sub 26lbs then I can't see why I would buy a Stumpy that weighs the same.

What they really need to do is just give the Stumpy Evo the Enduro geometry. That would be THE bike. You could nearly do it with a straight steerer and angleset but the BB is already on the floor as it is.

Such a nice looking bike, if I didn't have a boycott on the big S bikes then this would be in the running for the next ride…too bad.

As for the forks…why the hell would you NOT want a stiffer chassis if it is available…stupid…stupid…stupid.
