From the article
Alan Muldoon from MBR explained that crossing over from 26 to 29 is less challenging on a shorter travel machine. Longer travel 29ers (the Stumpy has 135 in the rear, the Camber 110) take some manhandling and getting used to while shorter travel versions respond better to 26er inputs.

I just changed from an old Blur Classic (110mm) to a Tallboy LTc (135mm) and didn't have any problems with the difference in handling.

Bottom bracket too low eh? Jesus, I thought that was an advantage of 29ers-you can have the bottom bracket higher but still nice and low in relation to the wheel axles for great handling.

Sounds like the Rocky Element 950 has thought about this (based on reviews I've read). Also the Chromag Surface's BB isn't quite as low as the other hardtail all mountain 29ers out there. I think it kind of shows where a bike is developed. The Chromag and Rocky shows its BC roots and the Specialized shows its California roots.

Wrong. Always.

Next time I have trouble holding a wheel on someone on a 26 inch bike n tight single track I'll let u guys know….. Nast,y tightest stuff around has yet to pose any problems or gaps, quite the contrary. Sure for long travel super slack dh not the right tool but otherwise not going back to 26. I'm on my 4th yr on 29 on the shore
Stumpy evo 29 has the makings of a stunning trail bike for Round here might give up a slight edge decendng to and enduro but would likely kill the enduro on the climbs and anything resembling XC
