Cam McRae headed down to Bend, Oregon to check out the new big wheel action from Specialized. The Camber is now a 29er only model, and the Stumpy EVO has seen some updates.

This just in!!! Spec tells the mountain biking market what they want!

Market responds with crickets

Kn.

When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion.

Cam would you say that the Stump EVO 29er in carbon would come close to dethroning your Enduro?

sorry, unless your well over 6' tall and need a big bike, theres just no way to make a 29" wheeled bike look good..

in anything smaller then a X-large/Large (some brands)the medium or smaller 29ers simply look like clown bikes, i just cant get past it.

besides ive literaly never got off my 26" wheeled bikes and thought "hmmm this just isnt working"

so in the end its NO SALE!!! for me

Yeah. It's like oral sex from the wrong sex. Feels good until you look down.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

I was chillin at Cove last night and there was a guy there test riding some bikes and 29ers would have been perfect for him. No word of a lie, the guy was 7+ feet tall. Something like 7foot2. He made a 22" frame xc bike look like a bmx. The top of the seat was at my nipples and im 5foot11 LOL.
Anyways, pretty much the whole time I was thinking a 29er would have been his best bet haha

yea for tall people the 29er seems right.. but for people under 6' it just looks goofy.

Do all 29ers ride the same? Seems lots of comments/judgements at 29ers in general as opposed to specific bikes.

Yes! They all ride the same just like all 26 bike ride the same. Most comments along those lines also come from the REO Speedwagon "heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend" crowd.

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

That's what I get for eating dinner in the middle of a post.
