I always got sore hands from dh riding. After a day on the bike I could barely straighten my fingers.

Have you ever done hand conditioning?
(no self sex jokes, I'm serious here)

They have a whole website devoted to hand training, check it out.

I've been blessed with anvils at the end of my arms, but after a hard day at Whistler I can feel it. Or worse, swinging a hammer at a build day or something. I've noticed a huge benefit from adding some of these exercises. Even simply focussing on your hand strength will help as it gets you thinking about a part of the body that doesn't get a lot of love.

For example, I've always got a set of these around.

Even better, I love this thing. It helps with the wrists and forearms too.

I made one out of an old broomstick and a weight, and kick it around a few times a week It's not much, but it really helps. Start training your hands, and the benefits will be appreciated.

I would have to dust off the 2010 Boxxer to check but I think I was running 50-55 psi and 1-3 clicks of low speed compression and I am 185 lbs light.
Too much air and too much low speed compression will kill your hands.

That's probably the difference between your 08 and the 10 Boxxer.

Maybe you need to adjust your compression damping a bit less.

Lots of trail building = no more sore hands when riding. Or just masturbate a lot.
(I'm serious too, but couldn't resist)

I think he was running the compression damping full open at first.

Interesting, I too just switched from a 2008 to a 2010 Boxxer and was experiencing the sore hand syndrome on the weekend. My season never ended either so conditioning is not a factor.

I run 65 psi and wide open compression. I used to run ~140 psi in the old fork. Maybe my rebound is too quick?

This thread is making my hands hurt. It must be the internals.

Would the sore hand syndrome be caused from switching to the stiffer chasis? 32mm to 35mm?

Should I jerk it before, or after I build?

After, the calluses add a whole new dimension.

I always have a Gripmaster on my desk at work. Great stress relief and strength building.
