#!markdown Mammal is right, this incident wouldn't have ever been more than an unfortunate negative verbal interaction if not for the assault by the hiker by jabbing a pole into someone, and then physically accosting her by trying to knock a phone out of the individuals hands. Only one person made this a physical interaction, and it wasn't the rider.
