You should probably just take the time to do a proper service. Once that's done you won't have to do your grease up for each ride.
I've been running them for years and I find an [annual tear down](https://can.oneupcomponents.com/pages/dropper-post-v2-service-rebuild) (which may or may not be needed). And then, once it gets a little sticky or slows down a bit (every month or so for me), the [quick grease](https://www.oneupcomponents.com/pages/v2-dropper-quick-grease-instructions) always works wonders for me and she's good to go.
