The Suunto 9 Peak caught my eye as well, on sale at present for 400 CAD although the vertical comes with a larger display, improved navigation, and longer battery life. The battery life, especially in tour and Ultra modes puts my mind at ease not having to charge during multi day trips with lots of km's.
