Interesting, thanks for the suggestion! I've discovered that removing the (super comfortable) Leatt insoles acutally gave me pretty much the feeling I was looking for, albeit a bit a little less stiff than I'd like. SOLE active thin insoles (their thinnest but still supportive) are incoming to see if they help, but just having a really thin sole would be great.
I can't return the shoes anyway and they are sooo comfortable walking in (even more than my Hoka walking/running shoes) so I'll keep them for casual use/walking if they end up being too soft for my liking. I have a feeling that I'll get used to them though. Thanks Andrew!
