The DH elite are mostly running 7-speed drivetrains that are basically just range-limited 10-speed setups, often with "corn-cob" (all 1 tooth jumps) cassettes borrowed from the road product lines. Way less need for fancy rampsĀ and asymmetrical chains and robot helpers if you're making fewer shifts through the smallest possible ratio changes.
So they're really sorta closer to the OG dirtbags than the corporate overlords would have you believe, at least in the drivetrain area.
