As a long-time CB pedal user, my biggest complaint on the Eggbeater and Candys was that once you ground them down on enough rocks, the end cap basically became impossible to remove for servicing the internals. The Mallet Es solved that issue by insetting the end cap a bit from the outer edge of the pedal. It appears the Mallet Trail end caps actually protroude outward from the pedal body. I’m not sure what the function of that silver ring is; does it protect the end caps?
