I bought my kids [Muddy Buddies](https://www.snugglebugz.ca/products/tuffo-muddy-buddy) when they were younger and I have to say the premise is sound. It would be very applicable for riding in the PNW from late September to mid-June most years.
One of the reasons I prefer riding in pants year round is so that the post ride clean-up is so much easier. A full on onesie could be pretty rad (but not aesthetically).
