I use the grease tool and I think it does a great job, but you always want to remove the snap-ring and seal first. That way the tool can really purge the old grease and you don’t get a **[seal-hematorrhea](https://meatengines.com/f/on-chris-king-bottom-bracket-service-seal-hematorrhea)**.  I’ve seen way too many King BB’s done at shops where the seal is bubbled out under the snap ring after.
