I could keep experimenting, but I think I'll go back to 2.4–2.6 tires on my bike because
1. I'm getting a suspension fork that probably won't fit anything bigger than a 2.6.
2. I should put this tire on a wider rim, I don't want to bother with multiple wheesets or switching tires any time I want a rigid experience.
3. most importantly, when this tire did feel good, it also felt like an under-inflated basketball under me. it feels great when "blobbing" over everything in sight. that works for some people but that's not really the experience I'm looking for. I like to bunnyhop and jib off everything a I ride, so the more nimble, precise handling of a smaller tire will probably suit me better.
I'll post my Marino when it finally comes in. It's a long process, so don't hold your breath!
