Some Kona Process frames had a version of this actually. I was working on a Process 134 the other day, from maybe 2016, and there are housing stops where the cable sections enter and exit the internally routed downtube. The cable is in a tube (not hard to feed) but it's significantly larger than housing so there's no, or at least limited, friction.  Any brand could do the same with their tube-in-tube or channel setup. Just have a housing stop and the entry and exit of the frame and make the channel the cable runs through straight and large enough that the cable is running free.  Neat idea.
