The only thing I’d say contrary to this is that the BikeYoke/Manitou Revive/Jack is the easiest post to teardown and _fully_ rebuild. It’s also smoother for those who care. They’re quite delightful to work on and ride.
But from a budget (initial and overtime) perspective I agree, both new and used. Cartridge posts are the best option, especially combined with great service as in your examples.
