Oooh. This is what I was looking for...I'm running the Deore 6120s--really like them. I've bought an XTR lever, but not yet bolted it on. I thought this was a bit crazy (and maybe it is), because I guess most would think any performance gain would be found in upgrading the calipers, but I was more interested in seeing if the levers produced any difference in feel (as I'm happy with the caliper performance and have one spare)--wanted to find out if anyone else had mated those with the Deore calipers. How do you find it? Sounds like you've found some difference? Cheers.
