46-30 with 11-34 is what my grx set came as. 42 sounds pretty reasonable, but yeah, for my mostly flatter terrain I'd probably find 44t to be the sweet spot. Was curious what exact ring you were running (like brand, narrow/wide or not, any weird offset considerations). I just haven't yet researched what plays nice with that crankset
