I don't have any issue with the fact that your experience with the lever slop, which I clearly noted in the review, is different than my own. It's a performance issue, **for you**. I love that folks come here and share their various experiences. For example, I don't think HG+ is all that, other people think Shimano 12spd shifting is a next-level experience - that's fantastic. A variety of experiences enhances the pallet of anything we're painting here. This review is based on _my experience_, which is what you've quoted in your post. I take issue with being told my experience is wrong - it's _my experience_. Certainly, I much prefer the Cura4 and Magura MT 4-piston brakes that I run on my personal brakes, and I certainly would prefer brakes that didn't have lever slop; however, riding this bike on aggressive trails I experienced no issues, personally, with the lever slop and that's what I reported. Again, while clearly noting its presence. - Compared to other options, new, at this price point, I regularly recommend these brakes over other options with full disclosure of the issue. Do you have an option you'd recommend over the M396 from new for the same price? For folks willing to put in the work who want a much better brake for a similar investment I regularly recommend a used pair of SRAM Guides - which are fully rebuildable. Clearly, for a similar investment, the Guides (+ sweat investment) would be the better option for you.
