And further to this, the truth is that I've read a lot of comments and
received a lot of e-mails about $2500 not really being all that "cheap" for a
bike. If it were my money, I'd spend a bit more. It would probably be more
accurate to assign the above comments to sub-$3000 bikes than to $2500 bikes,
but as long as there are a handful of options I'm okay with what I've said.
But I also need to remember that most people don't have a storage room full of
bike parts to pull from if something isn't working right.
I think the more interesting question is "how much do you have to spend on a
bike to not have to mess with it to make it rideable?"
