On the ankle zips, I actually had a pair \_installed \_into my NF Bezerkers. The bottoms of those things are so damned tight that I have to take off the pants if I want to put on/pull up my socks. I understand if they aren't big enough to allow for \[putting on\] kneepads (it would be nice, but it's also nice not to have a big flapping bottom of the pants - a long-ish zip would do the trick but I get it for weight/design/cost/waterproof considerations) - but socks? Really great pants, but having to take off my pants to put on/pull up socks is dumb as hell.
