This is ridiculous. It provides the perfect example of how the event is not
well run. If that was hockey, football, or any other sport, the competitor
would have been examined at the field of play to determine if there were any
signs of Traumatic Brain Injury (concussion) or other. They would NOT have
been allowed to get back on the playing field (or in this case throw a leg
over their bike). Safety measures like this are in place even for amateur
sports now.
