The real-time judging at Rampage adds suspense, but it also promotes the cliff
diving atmosphere. If the judging results were not announced until the end of
the day(s), I think it would alleviate a lot of the uncomfortable extra
pressure on the athletes. The riders could focus on riding their line the best
way possible rather than worrying about chasing the current leader. That is
what riders seem to want. The judges would also get an opportunity to step
back and look at the competition as a whole before passing out scores which
might lead to more consistent judging overall.
