If someone has some really peculiar gear I will certainly ask them about it. I
love hearing about the process of figuring out how he/she divined that some
weirdo thing that turned out to be the perfect solution. Otherwise I stick to
a standard greeting and ask them what they rode and how it was (always good to
get beta on adjacent trails).
