I have the 100% version of those D3O gloves and they've saved my hands on more than one occasion. Originally I bought them after my friend broke their hand when they punched the ground during a crash. I've had a few hard hits on them since then and my hands have been unscathed. It's hard to say if it has saved me from a broken hand but they have definitely prevented some serious bruises at the least.
