That's ridiculous. And an odd definition of "works", since it's literally \_not\_ doing what it is supposed to: hold you at the chosen drop.
I still can't believe anyone not sponsored still puts up with Reverb bullshit. It doesn't top any dropper category (drop, stack, insert length, etc), and even the new lever is still way harder to push than any cable operated post I've used (pnw, oneup, fox, spesh, bikeyoke, ks).
