A bit hyperbolic don’t you think? I expected a look back at some group of elite riders that just disappeared or something. Instead we get… well, I’m not sure what to call it exactly, but it’s most certainly not a “lost generation”. 3 years is hardly a generation for one thing, and none of these riders are “lost”. Not yet anyway. Most likely the vast majority will wind up in exactly the same fate as they would have without COVID.
I don’t want to sound insensitive to the misfortune of these riders. It is indeed regrettable and worth highlighting. But that can be done without penning a mopey obituary. You guys are generally better than this kind of headline.
