Except by having two holes as mounting positions rather than a slide some people (like me) are either too close or too far.  There is no little bear out come of "just right" in the solution. I have found that the outboard hole (short thumbs) and a dremel to remove the material that blocks my natural thumb extension, and to round off any sharp, square edges, is the perfect solution (for me). Oh and a sculpted notch on the front of the rocker switch so I can toggle a gear change with the thumb nail (extension of the thumb). And grip tape on all the shiny flat plastic surfaces. But I am not particular about my control set up at all.
