Great point! We need to cut down on consumption rather than reuse, recycle/upcycle. I often wonder what happens to the 'products' that are created with the recycled materials once they're done. It seems they still end up in landfills etc. which for obvious reasons is less than ideal.
Plastic seems almost completely unavoidable in today's world and that frustrates the heck out of me. To GU's credit, they are doing something but yeah, not using the material is more important. And I get your angle of real food over these 'performance' or 'science' foods – I too prefer it – but one could argue the same for many other things you or I find necessary.
