Reini - having ridden the BFeMAX a bunch I wrote up my thoughts here:

Specifically on the topic of short CS I'm definitely appreciating the long CS in some scenarios. Particularly going down steep tech or going fast on less techy trails. The extra stability and confidence is nice for sure. The downside is that a long front and a long back make for a big machine. I can ride it through our slow speed tech fine, but it does take more effort to maneuver it. It also does want to get off the ground and come alive until speeds increase.
None of this is particularly surprising and I should note that I chose a Large and I could also ride a Medium. So my opinion might change with the smaller frame. If I could wave a magic wand I'd shorten the CS from 444m to 430mm, which isn't super short, but would suit my preferences a bit better.
That said I am enjoying the different flavour of the Cotic and I am not feeling any need to change bikes. My thoughts on the longer CS may evolve with more saddle time. I'm going to ride the BFeMAX for a full year and then see where I am at.
