On days when it's not entirely soggy my NF DP2s are my first choice, but having a dry ass in the saddle is addictive. I think it would make sense to make some pants that are only waterproof from the knees up since your lower legs are going to get a little soggy regardless and it doesn't matter much if they do. My solution last year, when I didn't own any waterproof breathable pants was to wear a pair of waterproof shorts over some long pants and it worked surprisingly well.
