You shouldn't hate to say it - you're prime for time savings and that is one of the big appeals to me as well. Sometimes my ride window is only an hour - there's no way to make that work from where I live: it's too short a period to pedal straight from home (plus it's a big climb just to get to the trails, making a 'sprint' ride that much harder to pull off) so I have to load the truck. From home to trails (in truck, including loading, etc) it's 12 or maybe 15 mins. Double that for the way down and I'm left with 30 minutes of ride time. No thanks, might as well go for a run (double no thanks, please shoot my face). Instead I'm on the bike and out, to the trails in 10 (and warmed up) and it's the same on the way home, so my 40-minute window of actual ride time may only seem like 10 minutes more, but I can get to the top in 20 and do one full lap from 7th or a shorter one from 5th and get home.
