I tried a pair of Ruxton pants. They are pretty nice. I had the same issue with the waist being too big, but the rest of the pant fitting well so I had a friend re-sew the buckle 2" further away. Seems like they need to fix that since I hear a lot of people having the same issue. The material is nice and pedals well with slimmer pads. I like them for riding at about 10 deg C or cooler. Above that they start to feel warm and I'd probably prefer riding in shorts. The pockets are semi-useless. I guess I could ride with a key in there, but I don't find much use for them given the size and location. The tapered legs pedal well and don't snag on anything. I'd prefer a standard button waist with zippered fly setup and set of belt loops. That would get rid of the odd ball buckle and solve some of the waist sizing issue without need alterations.  Worth a look for a winter rider out here in Coastal BC.
