I feel like this is a brilliant review, not just because it's a bike I'm extremely interested in, but it showed me exactly why I'd probably be happier rocking my instinct deeper into the next decade than originally planned, because $8k for a bike of this type doesn't sound drastically nicer than throwing $2k of parts at my current ride that is already extremely good, and that's a lot of carbon bits I can throw at what I hae working well already. That's a price delta that lets me throw carbon cranks at a bike that doesn't need the weight savings. I do now really want to try the long-shock&mullet approach on my older Instinct to get similar travel figures, and see where that puts me for speed on the same trails.
