It's not about taking someone's word for it, it's about rationally
understanding what's going on. I respect DW's design and engineering chops,
but there's not a lot of substance in that post: it's just his say so that
chainline (ring-to-sprocket, not the usual use of the term) compensates
effectively for the angle of gravity as we ride up and down hill.
