Love what you've done with this bike, the philosophy, pushing boundaries and conservative bike design. One thing I keep going back and forth on as I keep hearing opposing yet very convincing views on... is this whole debate around chain induced pedal kickback (and it's relation to high engagement hubs). I don't pretend to know what I'm talking about on the subject and so rely on more knowledgeable people to explain it to me. The trouble is, some very knowledgeable people have explained both sides of the argument very well. So, one thing I keep hearing, is that once a high engagement hub (or any hub for that matter) is spinning at a relatively moderate speed, it releases the freehub and so the chain's affect on PK is almost zero... and any PK you're feeling is a result of the suspension design. Or do these other smaller issues and forces and/or chain whip have more of an affect? But you seem pretty sold on the o-chain device... and I'm assuming tested it with and without... which would mean the chain/engagement does have an affect on PK... correct?? Or is it just the placebo effect? Anyone else knowledgeable on the subject feel free to chime in... And so, if this is the case... are we just making things worse for ourselves chasing high engagement hubs? Doesn't an o-chain basically make any hub a lower engaging hub? Does all rear suspension work better with a low engagement hub? What about silent instant engagement hubs like the Onyx or Tairin Wheel's Mugen? Wouldn't those hubs instantly make PK much worse? Instead of spending $550 (CAD) on an o-chain? Could I get the same benefit from a cheap low engagement hub? Or is a high engagement hub and an ochain the best way forward? Are the results of an o-chain worth $550?? Thanks!
