Anyone know how important getting the headtube length right is? Would it be really dumb to put "set 1" (for a 91-98mm headtube) in a 120mm headtube? I realize part of the result would be a slightly steeper head angle, but I'm wondering if the steerer would bind in the headset, or another bad result. This is for an EC44-EC44, -2 degree headset.
Put another way, do the Works anglesets have bearings that can pivot around in the headset cups to accommodate different headtube lengths, and the only difference between sets is the amount of radial offset in the cups? Or are the bearings set at a fixed angle in the cups, and you need to get the right set of cups in order to have bearings that are reasonably aligned with your steerer?
