Installing tires with cushcore should not break levers. I have installed enough tires with cc now that I just do it with my hands. You just need to make room around the rim so the bead slips over. Generally I install the tire and seat it first. Then I remove one bead and put the CC in and go about working the second bead back on. You can work your way around the tire pulling the cc aside and tuck the bead deep down in the centre of the rim. By the time you get to the last bit you can just finish it with your bare hands (that sounded unintentionally dirty). If  you have trouble installing tires in general, this video is exactly how I was taught to do it. CC doesn't really make it much more complicated.
