Hi Eric,  Absolutely no reason to go XR casing. The little bit of extra weight running the SE4 comes with better ride quality, rim protection and piece of mind. I ended up running a 3” SE4 up front with a more square 2.6” SE5 in the rear and that was pretty awesome. My new Walt can clear 3” rubber and I have a 3” SE4 front / SE2 combo ready to go for more trail riding and a set of 2.8” WTB Vigilantes for more aggressive Shore stuff.  I’ve to see Bontrager do a 3” SE5 or even 3” G5 but the Vigilantes are awesome too.
