'Better' is subjective. I've no doubt that Silky is awesome, as they make great products. However, it is both twice the price AND more than twice the weight of the Bahco (450g vs 200g). Of course at least some of that weight (and cost) translates to durability and quality, however, the Bahco had no shortcomings based on its intended use, so I'm gonna have to disagree about that Silky being better. Good, yes. But not better.
And since MEC, like most retailers, usually carries options at different price points, it's also a glaring hole in their handsaw lineup. I bought that Bahco because of the weight and price. I would not have dropped $80 on the Silky, for both reasons.
