Steps to 10 year old knee pads.  Not sure how important each of these steps are. 1 - Don't crash onto your knees. 2 - Wash them.  Once per year.  No more, no less. 3 - Don't wear them around your ankles on the ride up. 4 - Don't wear them at all on the ride up.  I think this really controls the amount of funk that they build up. I also purchased these pads almost immediately before I stopped riding in bike parks.  So when you think about 10 years of strapping pads on for 20 minutes of downhilling a couple of times per week, it's actually not a whole lot of wear.  So, really, it's all down to Enduro that these things lasted so long.
