I dont get this. Since the clutch came to be, I dont remember ever noticing chain slap anymore. A tube or mastic tape or magic wrap solves this issue completely for me. I get the added protection to the entire chainstay (and wrapping the NDS as well as Vik mentioned). What about bikes that have the RD cable external and running on the top of the chainstay? I do think its cool they were able to engineer a solution to what was a problem for them, I just dont see it having much mass appeal.
