Steel frame as it's so much easier to find anyone or appropriate materials to weld it if it breaks. Good luck with that alu frame - it's a fair bit harder!!
Also 29er wheels as 700c will fit in a pinch and as that is worldwide the by far the most common wheel size ,come the apocalypse emergency spares much easier to get even in a basic looted bike shop.

Cable discs as there's no way I'm bleeding stuff come the zombies. I'll sacrifice braking for ease of fixing.
